“For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,” – Philippians 3:20 (NKJV)
Why do we spend so much time and effort trying to establish ourselves in life by our professions, our stature, and what we have? Is the affirmation, approval, or survival by others that important to us to succeed in life for us and our families? First of all, God – the Lord Jesus Christ is our provision. His approval and affirmation is all we need. The things we do on earth ought to be for the glory of God, not to identify who we are or be a part of this life.
God’s Word tells us that our citizenship is not of this world. We are citizens of Heaven, and we should live like it. How do we do that? Allow the power of God, His Holy Spirit to guide us through this life. If we put as much emphasis in understanding that we are only here for a while and that our eternal home is heaven, our perspectives will change, and we’ll begin to trust the Lord more in and for all things in this life as we prepare for our new home. Let’s not look at this life as the ultimate place of the living. God has so much more in store for us. Let’s live with the assurance from Almighty God. He will sustain us, and prepare us for our new place of residence where there will be no more crying, no more pain or frustration, just peace and joy with our Heavenly Father. I look forward to it, and so should you! Have a blessed day in all you do this day friends!
